Hi, I am Emmy-Lou Stoeter, owner and operator of

Horses have been my passion since a very young age, and the more I learned, the more interested I became. I have been competitive in horseshows as well as speed events, have taken numerous NCCP Coaching courses and HCBC Teaching courses and First Aid. I have guided many horseback rides, and most of all, spend lots of time with my horses.
Unlike most children, my first pony wasn't a 'pony' at all. It was a young, unbroke, QH filly... 'Squiggy'. Wow, what a learning experience. I can honestly say Squiggy has taught me much of what I know, she has tried every trick in the book and to this day, comes up with new ones. After growing up with Squiggy, I will pretty much get on anything with 4 legs and a saddle. But most importantly, I learned patience in training horses, how their minds work and how to find what they are best at and further their talents. Squiggy is of course still with me, and one of the most noticeable horses around.
Today, I pride myself on my herd of about a dozen well broke, well mannered horses, who are worth their weight in gold to me. Many of them rescues, who have turned into amazing lesson horses, trail horses and are just lovely. I always have several project horses in training, as well as my own competitive horses. I am strongly against the mistreatment of animals and I do what I can when there's a horse in need. Over the years I have also gained vast experience with equine wound and injury management, it never ceases to amaze me, with the right treatment, what a horse can overcome.
I work slowly and thoroughly with my horses, because I believe that rushing leads to confusion, and I do not want a confused or worried 1200lbs animal underneath me. Groundwork is the key to trust and a good relationship with your horse. To read more about my training methods, see the training page.
I have many big plans and have come a long way, of course none of it would have been achievable without all the support from my awesome friends, family and clients, and of course the horses!
