So many horses come and go, it's almost impossible to list them all, so here are some of the most memorable faces ELS Equine has brought home!

standardbred mare rescueI purchased Goldie as a lesson and trail horse, and never expected her to be in as rough shape as she was, when I went to pick her up. Covered in rain-rot and very thin. I have lost the 'before' photos, but she is still with me today, happy and shiny. She works hard and is a lovely mare, a definite keeper.

quarter horse mare rescueLynx was an auction purchase, however I only had to outbid the meat buyer to bring her home. She is still with me today, giving pony rides and lessons!

thoroughbred gelding rescueOnce again, this old guy was bought out of the meat pen, he turned out to be an amazing lesson horse and trail horse and taught many kids to overcome their fears. Sadly Hero is no longer with us, he passed away quietly of old age.

paint mare paint foal filly rescueWhen I brought this lovely, unbroke, paint mare home, to my surprise I got a lovely little filly several months down the road. The mare has found a wonderful home and is enjoying life as a trail horse, the filly is still with me and can be viewed on the sale page.

quarter horse mare rescueSnuffy, the feisty 28 year old mare I also bought out of the meat pen for next to nothing. She had seen a lot in her days and many kids enjoyed learning on her back, sadly winter 08/09 proved to be too difficult for her worn teeth and joints and she was let go with dignity and will forever be remembered for her feist.

buckskin quarter horse arab geldingThis gorgeous buckskin was given to me, he was in good shape but in a situation where he was not happy and not getting along with his companions. He also had some quirks that needed to be figured out, but this 'troublemaker' has turned into a noble steed. He still resides happily in my herd today and is 31 this year, looking good as ever!

quarter horse filly This cutie was left with me when her owner had to leave the province. Her sweet personality found her a home quickly!

paint geldingI got more than I bargained for when I decided to take this horse home, what a great all-around guy, he always had me impressed! He sold to a great home!

thoroughbred tb filly rescuetb filly rescuedPenny was in very weak and rough shape when I got her, she needed a lot of work but she really filled out and turned into a stunner! She has an amazing home and may end up in the show ring yet!

appaloosa gelding I didn't know much about this appy gelding when a horse hauler dropped him off unexpectedly... but he ended up being a pleasure! He needed a little tlc for some soreness and had slight vision troubles, but he proved to have some real talent, and found an excellent home at an appy ranch!

arabian gelding horse rescueI bought Shadow in early 2008, he was in good condition but I didn't know any history on him. We had a bumpy start but once he was 'figured out', he became an amazing little gelding, great with any riders. He was with me for many years and right until the end when he was let go with dignity due to a lost battle with a severe form of cancer. He is irreplaceable and greatly missed.
